Complete Golf Simulator Equipment & Materials List

This is the equipment and material list for my 10′8″-wide home golf simulator. I have separated the Canadian and U.S. Amazon listings so readers can open the correct marketplace instead of being redirected to an unavailable regional listing.

Impact screen

Aerixtron golf simulator impact screen with black backing

This is the screen used in my room. It uses a white 3D air-mesh impact surface, reinforced grommets, included bungee cords and a black light-blocking back. My screen is mounted to screw eyes hidden behind the 2×6 frame.

Check before ordering: Select the dimensions that fit your finished frame opening and leave enough clearance behind the screen for movement.

Hitting mat

Ponsonbay 6×4-foot golf hitting mat with ball tray

I hit from the centre of this mat, placing the tee about 11 feet from the screen. I recessed the mat into the surrounding foam-and-turf floor rather than leaving its full thickness above the room flooring.

Check before ordering: Confirm the 6×4-foot option, thickness and turf configuration. Amazon sometimes combines several sizes and mat designs on one listing.

Room turf

LITA 11×15-foot artificial grass

I used this as the room-wide surface over the foam tiles. The turf covers the 14-foot simulator zone while the remaining eight feet of the room are finished with vinyl plank flooring.

Check before ordering: Verify the selected roll dimensions and pile height. The listing contains multiple sizes.

Foam floor underlay

REALIKE 24×24-inch interlocking EVA foam tiles

These ½-inch foam tiles sit underneath the room turf. I cut away the tiles at the hitting position so the turf dropped into the opening and formed a recessed bed for the 6×4 mat.

Check before ordering: Calculate coverage from the actual floor area and allow extra tiles for cuts and damaged pieces.

Wall protection

CAP Barbell 72×24×2-inch folding exercise mats

I attached these black folding mats to the simulator walls with double-sided carpet tape. The final row is angled inward to rest on the edge of the 2×6 screen frame, creating the fitted black surround.

Check before ordering: Confirm the black 72×24×2-inch version. The listing includes multiple colours and sizes.

Ceiling protection

CAP Barbell large folding exercise mat

I used the large-format CAP mat across the ceiling, secured with screws through the mat seams and double-sided carpet tape. I angled its leading edge downward onto the 2×6 frame to close the gap above the impact screen.

Safety note: Overhead protection requires mechanical fastening into suitable structure. Tape alone should not be relied upon to hold a ceiling mat.

Major simulator equipment

  • Launch monitor: FlightScope Mevo Gen 2 with Pro Package and face-impact capability
  • Projector: BenQ AH700ST short-throw laser projector
  • Computer: Windows gaming PC with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics
  • Software: GSPro, E6 Connect and FS Golf

The Mevo Gen 2 and BenQ projector are included here for completeness, but I am not linking to substitute marketplace listings unless I can verify the exact model and seller for that country.

Construction materials and hardware

  • 2×6 lumber for the L-shaped screen frame
  • Structural fasteners appropriate for wall studs and ceiling joists
  • Screw eyes installed on the rear of the frame
  • Bungee straps supplied with the impact screen
  • Double-sided carpet tape for the wall and ceiling padding
  • Screws installed through the ceiling-mat seams
  • Floor-transition materials between turf and vinyl plank

I will add exact lumber quantities, fastener sizes and frame measurements after confirming them from the installed room rather than estimating.
